Baseball Softball UK CEO - offer made
Baseball Softball UK stands at a defining moment. As the national development agency for baseball and softball, and a funded partner of Sport England and UK Sport, BSUK has spent over two decades growing participation, strengthening clubs and professionalising pathways in what remains a niche but opportunity-rich landscape. Now, following an organisational review, there is a shared ambition to unify BSUK, the British Baseball Federation and the British Softball Federation into a single National Governing Body, aligning grassroots growth with elite aspiration, including potential qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. It is a rare opportunity to reshape the future of two Olympic sports at a critical point in their evolution.
The CEO will report to the Board and take full executive responsibility for leading this transition, with governance reform and structural integration a central priority in the first twelve months. Alongside unification, the role will strengthen financial resilience, embed robust systems and reduce reliance on public funding by building commercial capability. Beyond reform, there is genuine growth potential, from increasing participation and infrastructure development to elevating profile and performance on the world stage. The mandate is to stabilise, align and then accelerate.
The person will be a credible, values-driven leader who sees this as a moment of reset and responsibility. They will bring governance and financial transformation experience, political awareness and the ability to unite historically fragmented stakeholders behind a shared purpose. Resilient yet optimistic, they will balance immediate structural reform with a compelling long-term vision that connects governance stability, grassroots participation and elite performance ambition.

Rochdale A.F.C. CEO - offer made
Rochdale A.F.C. is entering a new chapter. Following the Ogden family’s takeover in May 2024, the club is being rebuilt with a long-term plan: return to the EFL within three years, become self-sustainable within five, and deliver lasting social impact for the town over the next decade. This is a club rooted in its community, realistic, resilient and quietly ambitious, with the foundations already laid for meaningful progress on and off the pitch.
The incoming CEO will be the day-to-day leader of Rochdale AFC, overseeing the full operation and acting as the glue between football, commercial and community pillars. Reporting to the Board, the CEO will set and drive the club’s vision, line-manage the football operations leaders, bring the Community Trust closer into the heart of the club, and build a commercially resilient, fan-first organisation.
A core part of the opportunity is growth: reimagining what the club can offer Rochdale, using smart marketing and events to double attendance from c.2,500, while balancing ambition with sustainable financial stewardship. This role suits a grounded builder, someone who rolls their sleeves up, leads through influence, not ego, and brings clarity, consistency and followership in a complex, high-emotion environment. You don’t need to be a football “expert”, but you do need sporting literacy: knowing what good looks like, how to support performance teams, and when to push versus step back. Above all, Rochdale is looking for a commercially and operationally literate leader, curious, optimistic, resilient and integrity-led, who values togetherness over politics and wants to build something lasting, not flashy.
