Dave Slemen

Raised by a Liverpool FC season-ticket-holding mother and an England and British Lions rugby international father, it was somewhat inevitable that Dave’s career would start in sport. 

Dave spent 13 years playing professional rugby for Orrell, Harlequins, Connacht and Esher before transitioning into the corporate world with Miramar Global, where he placed senior commercial and operational roles across the chemical and energy sectors.

In 2013, these two worlds came together with the founding of EPP Global prompted by the realisation that sport could benefit immensely from the hiring rigour and processes he’d experienced in his corporate roles. 

Dave now leads EPP’s search and selection business, with a particular focus on head coach selection and assessment work. He is a permanent tutor on the FA’s Technical Director’s course and for Focus Sport Education. He is also a guest lecturer on the LMA’s Diploma in Football and a Technical Expert for FIFA.

Dave has a BSc in Sports Science and Physiology from the University of Leeds and an MBA from the University of Bath. His dissertation examined the blend of academic and experiential learning in elite sports leaders and how that experience could help others reach their potential quickly.
